Trainer Todd Pletcher's Kentucky Derby (GI) starter left Sunday (May 5) morning to return to Pletcher's home base at Belmont Park.
"He seemed to come back fine," Pletcher said. "We scoped him after the race and he bled a little bit; nothing too bad. We will freshen him up and try again.

Derby Starter Analysis By: Steve Fugitte |
Is up against it in here because he will want the early lead and faces several other more talented runners who will bear down on him almost immediately. Has a good combination of pedigree and connections but the running style and relative lack of inexperience should be his undoing in this tough spot. I would have saved this guy for the Preakness. |

Pedigree Anlysis By: John Gaver III |
Born: February 2, 1999; Dosage Index: 1.40
The bay colt Wild Horses is by the very fashionable sire Saint Ballado, a son of the influencial stallion Halo, a sire of seven crops and 30 black type winners including champion Domingo; millionaire Captain Bodgit; Grade I winner Yankee Victor; Grade I winner Sister Act and Grade II stakes winner Flame Thrower. Wild Horses is out of the Robyn Dancer mare Waltzing With Deb, a half-sister to five stakes winners including Grade III stakes winner Suave Prospect and the multiple graded stakes winner Successful Appeal. Wild Horses' dam sire, Robyn Dancer, a daughter of Crafty Prospector and an earner of $622,906 on the racetrack, is the sire of seven crops and 16 black-type winners. A relatively young stallion, Robyn Dancer is not represented by any stakes winners as a broodmare sire. Wild Horses is an example of a stamina-on-speed pedigree cross, or nick. On his top, or sire, line, Wild Horses gets a major stamina boost from Halo and on his bottom, or distaff, line, the speed source comes from the quick Crafty Prospector, a son of the equally quick sire-of-sires Mr. Prospector.
