Start good on the first attempt. DRAKE CARTER was away first but LEONATUS, the favorite, was in front by two lengths after going the first quarter. He increased his margin to three lengths after a half mile with CHATTER and LORD RAGLAN being the closest. LORD RAGLAN sprinted into contention in the stretch but swerved at the 16th pole. CHATTER curled his tail on the back stretch and fell to the rear. DRAKE CARTER was three lengths back of the winner at the finish and a half length in front of LORD RAGLAN.
