Oaks Starter Anlysis By: Steve Fugitte |
Is the primary threat to You and may be the best win bet in here if they go crazy pounding Frankel's filly. Love the way Neil Drysdale has brought her along slowly, increasing the distance slightly with each start. Blowout win in the Comely should have her prepped for the next step forward - the biggest of her career. Daughter of French Deputy may not go much farther than nine panels but looked like a filly that could stay it in New York last out and will get a little added stamina from her distaff side. Great judge of pace Gary Stevens should work out a nice trip for her just off the early leaders and they will be tough to run down late. Strong exacta box with the top pick. |

Pedigree Anlysis By: John Gaver III |
Born: April 14, 1999; Dosage Index: 4.60
Bella Bellucci, who fetched a healthy $925,000 as a two-year-old in training, is by the relatively young stallion French Deputy (also trained by Neil Drysdale), a sire of four crops and 13 black-type winners including Japanese champion Kurofune, a full-brother to Bella Bellucci; Left Bank, winner of the Cigar Mile (GI) and Queue, winner of the Long Island Handicap (GII) on turf. She is out of the Classic Go Go mare Blue Avenue, a stakes winner who is a half-sister to multiple Grade I winner Brought To Mind and to Nokoma, who finished second to Saarland in last year's Remsen Stakes (GIII). As a broodmare sire, Classic Go Go is a sire of 35 producing daughters and the stakes winners Kurofune, Early Flyer, Hunting Course and Bella Bellucci. Bella Bellucci's pedigree traces back to Northern Dancer (via Vice Regent) in his sire line, and she is out of a Classic Go Go mare. Classic Go Go is a full brother to Tight Spot and Valiant Nature and is by the Australian champion Pago Pago. She is bred, top and bottom, to get nine furlongs on dirt.
