2002 Kentucky Oaks Attendance - 101,923 - Third Largest Crowd In Oaks' History
Louisville, KY (May 3, 2002) - Attendance for the 128th running
of the Kentucky Oaks was 101,923, the third largest crowd in Oaks
history, and the fourth consecutive year the event has topped the
100,000 mark.
The Oaks record was set in 2000 with a crowd of 106,156. Last year the
day drew 102,904.
The Oaks, the second largest attended day of racing in North America,
received a major boost in attracting crowds since the opening of the
infield for the event 1989.
