Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer made a quick stop by Barn 42 before catching an early flight to San Francisco to check on Eye of the Tiger.

"He came out of the race fine and ate up good," assistant trainer and exercise rider Art Calva said. "We took him out and jogged him on the road and he is good on all four."

Calva said plans are indefinite with Eye of the Tiger.

"We will probably know in a few days. Jerry will talk with Mr. (John) Gunther in a few days and decide whether to fly them all back (Hollendorfer had four horses stabled here) or go on to Pimlico," Calva said.

Eye of the Tiger was Hollendorfer's first Derby starter after having been here two previous times with horses that were sidelined by injury and never made the race.

"We were talking about that coming back to barn last night," Calva said. "We finally got around that ring."

Pedigree Analysis By: John Gaver III
EYE OF THE TIGER punched his card for Derby 129 with a game place effort in the Lexington and if you like Offlee Wild off that race then you should love this guy. Lightly-raced sort has a good trainer on his side in Jerry Hollendorfer and this high percentage conditioner is due for some better luck in the Derby after disappointing scratches of Globalize and the highly-regarded Event of the Year in previous runnings. Main knock on this colt is his sprinter's pedigree but several have won the race recently with speedy breeding and he does showcase a relaxed running style that should help him stretch out. Should be ready to cycle back to his best speed figure after a bit of a regression in the Lexington and it is actually good to get that out of the way and make room for a new top effort. Don't think a sharp trainer like Hollendorfer would run him without a solid shot at a piece of the purse and he is fighting for the final spot in my superfecta box. A very live longshot - so look closely. Born: April 10, 2000
    Dosage Index: 3.00
The lightly-raced bay colt Eye Of The Tiger is by the graded stakes winner American Chance, a sire of six crops and 14 stakes winners including the graded stakes winners Devine Wind and American Halo; the listed stakes winner American In Paris and the Grade III (Can.) stakes winner Gregorian Chance. He is out of the Phone Trick mare Dial A Trick and is a half-brother to the listed stakes-placed filly Expanse. This colt's second dam is the stakes winner Ice Fantasy, who is also the dam of the graded stakes winners Fighting Fantasy and Snow Ridge. As a broodmare sire, Phone Trick is the sire of 197 producing daughters and 15 stakes winners including Exogenous, Old Topper, Connected, My Sweet Westly, Lakeside Cup, Cat Chat, Sweettrickydancer, Long Distance, Double Zero Seven and Storm Alert. While this colt's pedigree doesn't scream "classic distance of ground" - 10 furlongs and beyond - his sire line does trace back to the classy main track route stayer Stop The Music, a member of the famed Gas House Gang at Greentree Stud, and Seattle Slew (the sire of American Dance, the dam of his sire, American Chance), the winner of the 1977 Triple Crown. In short, all this fella's staying power comes from his sire line, as Phone Trick is a stallion that is known for throwing precocious, speedy offspring. This colt improved when stretching out to a mile and a sixteenth in the Coolmore Lexington Stakes (GII), but the leap from 8.5 to 10 furlongs is a big one. Thinking he's better suited at distances from a mile and a sixteenth to a mile and an eighth.
