Bob Baffert reported on Feb. 27 that his undefeated 2-year-old champion, Vindication, is doing well at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center in Los Olivos, Calif., where the $2.15 million son of Seattle Slew is recovering from a suspensory injury that was diagnosed on Feb. 3.
"He's undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy," Baffert said. "They say he's doing pretty good."
A medical spokesperson said on Thursday, Feb. 27 that the procedure promotes healing and doctors are optimistic that Vindication will eventually return to the races. The Padua Stable colt has been at the facility since Feb. 10.

Dark bay or brown son of 1977 Triple Crown winner, champion and three-time Horse of the Year Seattle Slew, is bred top and bottom to relish a classic distance of ground, as he gets additional staying power from his dam sire, Strawberry Road. Fetched a cool $2.15 million as a yearling at Fasig-Tipton in Saratoga, and he is out of Strawberry Reason, who earned a tough of $150,000 on the racetrack and won the Grade III Martha Washington Handicap as a four year old; she's also a half-sister to the graded stakes winner Silver Comet, who counts the Grade III Cliff Hanger Handicap at Monmouth among his stakes wins. Prior to his death in 2002, Seattle Slew sired 21 crops and 103 black type winners including champions Slew O' Gold, A.P. Indy, Surfside, Swale, Capote, Landaluce and Digression. Strawberry Road was the champion 3-year-old colt and Horse of the Year in his native Australia in 1983 and Champion Older Horse In Germany in 1984. To date, Strawberry Road is the sire of 116 producing daughters and has 24 stakes winners to his credit as a broodmare sire including Affluent, Bedanken, Maliziosa, Strawberry Reason, Fistfite, Strawberry Morn, Cheap Talk, Strike Three and Silky Zarb.
