The return of the Breeders’ Cup highlights the year with the third-largest crowd in Cup history, 66,204.

Churchill President Tom Meeker is installed for a two-year term as president of Thoroughbred Racing Associations.

The Kentucky Oaks provides its sixth consecutive record crowd (73,785), as Lite Light streaks to a 10-length victory in a stakes record 1:48 4/5 and becomes the first filly to wear a garland of lilies.

In June, the Board of Directors approves a 10 for 1 stock split which is initiated on August 15.
