ALYSHEBA, carefully handled when caught in close quarters between horses just after the start, advanced steadily to reach contention approaching the stretch, stumbled when he clipped the heels of BET TWICE just inside the final three-sixteenths, came out to avoid that rival again leaving the furlong grounds and proved best under strong handling. BET TWICE, never far back, rallied from the outside approaching the end of the backstretch, caught ON THE LINE soon after starting the final turn, then swerved repeatedly under pressure during the drive bothering ALYSHEBA a couple of times and continued on gamely. AVIES COPY moved within easy striking distance from the outside nearing the far turn, remained a factor to midstretch and finished with good energy. CRYPTOCLEARANCE lacked room along the inside after the start, moved fast from the outside leaving the far turn but wasn't good enough. TEMPLAR HILL rallied approaching the stretch and was going well at the finish. GULCH eased back between horses soon after the start, raced very wide into the stretch but failed to seriously menace with a mild late response. LEO CASTELLI, caught in tight quarters between horses racing into the first turn, moved up along the inside entering the backstretch, raced within easy striking distance to the upper stretch but lacked the needed response. CANDI'S GOLD raced forwardly until near the stretch and tired. CONQUISTAROSE was without speed. ON THE LINE raced outside. CAPOTE while vying for the lead, held on well for a mile and flattened out. SHAWKLIT WON tired. MASTERFUL ADVOCATE, caught in close quarters racing into the first turn, was finished before reaching the far turn. WAR lacked room between horses following the start and again along the inside at the first turn, continued to save ground while making a run approaching the end of the backstretch but was finished after going a mile. MOMENTUS failed to be a serious factor; NO MORE FLOWERS showed some early foot while racing wide. CAPOTE raced well out from the rail while vying for the lead to the far turn, gave way suddenly and was eased through the final 70 yards. DEMONS BEGONE, outrun early, bled after entering the backstretch.
