Ashland Stakes (GI) winner Elloluv galloped 1 ¼ miles at Churchill Downs on May 1 with exercise rider Enrique Alferez. "She was perfect. She's an angel," trainer Craig Dollase said as he walked her around the shedrow later. "I'm happy with my position. It's the shortest way around," Dollase added, referring to the fact that she'll break from the rail in the Oaks. 5.1.2003 - Elloluv Video Workout

Pedigree Analysis By: John Gaver III
ELLOLUV is a talented filly who is a derserving favorite in Kentucky Oaks 129 after her smashing win in the Grade 1 Ashland at Keeneland last out. Responded to Robby Albarado's handling that day but was certainly aided by the track's speed bias in a front running win. Pace scenario and track bias is not so rosy this time around as she figures to be pushed very hard early by Go For Glamour, Bird Town, Tempus Fugit and Santa Catarina. On paper this race has a ludicrous early pace and the favorite will need to fall back on her Santa Ynez race, which unfortunately was at a much shorter distance, and show the ability to rate just a touch. More likely that she is going to need the early lead at this extended distance and that makes her very vulnerable despite her talent at this distance. Willing to take a stand against on the pace angle but she is one smart daughter of Gilded Time who has never run a bad race while being expertly managed by young Craig Dollase. Born: February 20, 2000 Dosage Index: 4.78 The bay filly Elloluv is by the champion Gilded Time - an underrated sire who throws runners - including the graded stakes winners Mandy's Gold, Old Topper, Elaborate and the additional black-type earners Pal Joey and Speaking of Time. Elloluv fetched an honest $120,000 as a two-year-old in training at Keeneland last year, and she is the first foal out of Currency Quest, a daughter of millionaire and multiple grade one stakes winner Cryptoclearance who was a minor stakes winner in Ohio. As a broodmare sire, Cryptoclearance is the sire of 98 producing daughters to date including the stakes winners Clearly A Queen, Valhol, Tails of the Crypt, Ishiguru and Royal Code (Aus). While nine furlongs may be pushing the distance limitations of Gilded Time, Elloluv gets additional stamina from her dam sire, Cryptocleance, who won the 10-furlong, Grade I Widener Handicap at Hialeah.
