My Boston Gal Walks Shedrow On Easter
ATLANTIC OCEAN/SANTA CATARINA - Bob and Beverly Lewis' Santa Catarina
continued to train forwardly for the 129th Kentucky Oaks by working
seven furlongs in 1:24 after the renovation break over a fast track at
Churchill Downs Sunday morning. Dana Barnes was up for the work.
"It was a fantastic work," said trainer Bob Baffert, who won the
1999 Oaks with Silverbulletday. "She is coming back into her own. She
has always been a good filly. She sort of went south on us before the
Breeders' Cup last year, but now she's really training up a storm."
The Thoroughbred Corporation's Atlantic Ocean galloped.
GO FOR GLAMOUR - Columbine Stable's Go For Glamour galloped a mile and a
half after the renovation break with exercise rider Andy Durnin up.
Trainer Beau Greely is due in Louisville Monday night.
ISLAND FASHION - Everest Stables' Island Fashion galloped a mile and a
quarter under exercise rider Andy Durnin after the break.
The Nick Canini trainee may work Tuesday.
LADY TAK - Heligibrodt Racing Stable's Lady Tak galloped two miles
before the renovation break with exercise rider Lisa Orn up.
Scott Blasi, assistant to trainer Steve Asmussen, said Lady Tak
would work Monday morning, "probably" before the break.
The riding assignment for the Oaks is open.
MY BOSTON GAL - Golden Rod Stakes winner My Boston Gal limited her
Easter Sunday activity to walking the shedrow at Barn 26.
Two-time Oaks winning rider Pat Day as the call on My Boston
Gal.
MY TRUSTY CAT - Carl Pollard's My Trusty Cat galloped a mile and
three-eighths before the renovation break under exercise rider Jeff
Cuddie.
Trainer David Vance plans to work the two-time stakes winner
next Sunday. No rider has been confirmed.
