Churchill Downs History

Churchill Downs is made the corporate name for the racetrack.

The Kentucky Jockey Club is replaced as holding company of Churchill Downs and five other tracks under its control by the newly created American Turf Association.

At one time the holding company controlled seven tracks, including Churchill.
