Derby NewsFirst Public Kentucky Derby Post Draw Set For Wednesday, May 3 At Louisville's 4th Street LiveLOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 2, 2005) - Racing fans and Derby Week visitors will have their first ever opportunity to witness the selection of post positions for the $2 million Kentucky Derby presented by Yum! Brands on Wednesday, May 3 when the event is held for the first time in the heart Louisville's 4th Street Live! entertainment complex. The post selection show will be nationally televised from 5-6 p.m. (all times Eastern) as part of ESPN's "SportsCenter at the Kentucky Derby." Members of the audience will be able to cheer for their favorites as the owners, trainers and jockeys as the connections of Derby entrants select the starting positions for the horses that will run in the 132nd renewal of America's greatest race on Saturday, May 6 at Churchill Downs. Following the one-hour post selection show, 4th Street Live! will present a free concert by national recording artists O.A.R. The concert is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The change in location for 2006 Kentucky Derby post selection show is the result of a partnership between Churchill Downs, Fourth Street Live!, the City of Louisville, ESPN and the Greater Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau. The selection order will be as follows:
