2002 World History:
The Year began with Salt Lake City, Utah hosting the Winter Olympics in January. The United States won 34 medals, which was the most the US has ever won in a Winter Olympics.
Brazil won the 2002 World Cup 2-0 over Germany. The United States had its best ever finish reaching the quarter finals.
Valley Sports out of Louisville, Ky. won the Little League World Series in its first ever appearance.
On a sad note the 10 people were killed and 3 wounded during a three week time span in which two snipers terrified the Maryland, Virginia, & Washington DC area.
