SPEND A BUCK quickly sprinted to the front, jumped a path just inside the 16th pole after opening a clear lead, then drew off quickly while remaining well out from the rail into the backstretch. He continued well out from the rail while maintaining his advantage to the upper stretch and was under left-handed urging to hold sway. STEPHAN'S ODYSSEY, outrun into the backstretch, commenced to rally along the inside nearing the turn, came out between horses for the drive bumping with TANK'S PROSPECT and FAST ACCOUNT, then finished with good courage to wear down CHIEF'S CROWN for second place. The latter, prominent from the outset, raced well out in the track while prompting the pace to the stretch but lacked a rally. FAST ACCOUNT moved through along the inside nearing the end of the backstretch, came out to continue his bid approaching the stretch, bumped with STEPHEN'S ODYSSEY and failed to sustain his rally. PROUD TRUTH, outrun early, moved outside horses leaving the far turn but failed to be a serious factor. SKYWALkER failed to seriously menace while racing wide. TANK'S PROSPECT, steadied between horses approaching the first turn, made a run along the inside on the backstretch, but was finished soon after going seven furlongs and drifted out into STEPHAN'S ODYSSEY during the drive. FLOATING RESERVE was always outrun. RHOMAN RULE worked his way outside entering the backstretch, made a run racing into the far turn but was finished before reaching the stretch. ENCOLURE raced within striking distance to the far turn and gave way. IRISH FIGHTER, well-placed to the far turn, tired badly. ETERNAL PRINCE, who failed to break alertly, was steadied along looking for room between horses approaching the first turn and was finished before reaching the far turn. I AM THE GAME, eased between horses approaching the first turn, failed to be a serious factor.
