Barbaro chomped "phenomenally large" carrots and his condition remained unchanged today as doctors at New Bolton Center in Kennett Square, Pa., continued a daily assessment of whether his cast needs to be changed. So far, no change has been needed.

Barbaro is enjoying a diet of sweet feed and alfalfa, supplemented by fresh grass several times daily. He is also groomed from head to tail at least once daily, and given numerous "scratching sessions" to afford as much stimulation as possible and prevent bordeom.

The colt remains on stall rest and spent parts of Sunday walking around the stall, peering out the window and eating carrots that were sent as a gift.

"Each carrot was almost equivalent to that small bag you buy in the grocery store," said Dr. Corinne Sweeney, executive director of the hospital.
