A field of ten 3-year-olds has been assembled to contest the $325,000 Lexington (Grade 2) at Keeneland. The race is the final major prep for the Kentucky Derby and the last chance for these sophomores to boost their graded stakes earnings and earn a spot in the starting gate for the 133rd Kentucky Derby.
It took a photo to separate the top four finishers in the $750,000 Toyota Blue Grass (Grade 1). That photograph revealed that Dominican had nosed out last year’s 2-year-old champion Street Sense in winning one of the most exciting Kentucky Derby prep races in recent memory.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 24, 2007) - Churchill Downs and UPS are teaming up to bring the horsepower of the Kentucky Derby to NASCAR, as the two companies today unveiled a special Kentucky Derby 133 paint scheme that will be featured on the #44 UPS Toyota Camry driven by champion Dale Jarrett as he competes in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on April 29.
