Craig Dollase

Craig is the son of veteran California trainer Wally Dollase. Like his father, he is based in southern California, where he lives with his wife and two daughters. Originally an assistant to Wally, he went out on his own in 1997, winning with his very first starter at Hollywood Park. The following year, he was leading trainer at the same track's summer meet.
David Flores

David Flores

A native of Tijuana, Mexico, Flores' first win came at Caliente, Mexico in 1984. He captured his first riding title at a major track in '99 at Santa Anita; he also earned his 2,000th career win that year.

Terry Finley, who has been involved in the Thoroughbred industry for more than 22 years, is the founder and president of West Point Thoroughbreds, Inc. A graduate of West Point, Finley is a former Airborne Ranger who holds an MSBA from Boston University. He gained hands-on experience working with Thoroughbreds as a teenager and began developing racing partnerships in 1991.

Pedigree Analysis

Superior racehorses are capable of outrunning their pedigrees, but El Gato Malo will have to earn his way into that category if he has any pretensions of staying 1 1/4 miles on the first Saturday in May. His sire, the brilliantly fast El Corredor, never ran past a mile. He scored his most notable victories at that distance, in the Cigar Mile H. (G1) and consecutive runnings of the Del Mar H.
