Pedigree
Majestic Warrior is royally bred. He's by two-time leading sire A.P. Indy, a son of legendary Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew who hails from the terrific Secretariat mare Weekend Surprise. Named Horse of the Year in 1992 following wins in the Belmont S. (G1) and Breeders' Cup Classic (G1), A.P. Indy is the sire of 2003 Horse of the Year Mineshaft as well as classic winners Rags to Riches (the first filly in 102 years to win the 1 1/2-mile Belmont S.) and Bernardini (2006 Preakness [G1]). His progeny's Average Winning Distance is a whopping 8.2 furlongs. A.P. Indy's son Aptitude finished fast for runner-up honors in the 2000 Kentucky Derby, and it will be no surprise to see the 19-year-old stallion eventually sire a Kentucky Derby (G1) winner.
Majestic Warrior is out of millionaire Dream Supreme, whose sire, Seeking the Gold, is responsible for progeny with an Average Winning Distance of 7.3 furlongs. Among Mr. Prospector's best sons at stud, Seeking the Gold has sired more than 80 stakes winners, including such champions as Dubai Millennium, Heavenly Prize and Flanders. Seeking the Gold has also made a considerable mark through his daughters, who have produced such top-class performers as Surfside, Pine Island, Excellent Art (GB), Good Reward, Pomeroy, Riskaverse and Criminologist.
There's plenty of stamina and class on both sides of Majestic Warrior's pedigree. His dam won a pair of Grade 1 events at seven furlongs, the Test and Ballerina, and Majestic Warrior's granddam, Spinning Round by Dixieland Band, also captured the Ballerina. Majestic Warrior's full sister, Crystal Current, is a two-turn stakes winner, and the Kentucky-bred colt figures to have little difficulty stretching out in distance at three.
Majestic Warrior owns a strong pedigree for 10 furlongs. He is inbred 3 x 4 to 1973 Triple Crown hero Secretariat and 4 x 4 to the great Buckpasser.
