Gotham S. (G3) winner VISIONAIRE (Grand Slam) worked five furlongs in 1:00 2/5 over Keeneland's Polytrack on Saturday in advance of next Saturday's Blue Grass S. (G1). With regular rider Jose Lezcano aboard, the Team Valor colorbearer worked in company with stablemates Ambersham (Dynaformer) and Full Charge (Mineshaft). Clockers caught him galloping out in 1:13.

"He's not a very good work horse," trainer Michael Matz said of the decision to work Visionaire in company. "I just needed to work him with some other horses. He always works with other horses. He's very quiet and has a good disposition. He's ready to run."

Matz added that Visionaire appears to like Keeneland's Polytrack. The colt finished third behind Pyro (Pulpit) when making his stakes debut in the Risen Star S. (G3) two starts back and will get a rematch with that same rival in the Blue Grass.

MINER'S CLAIM (Mineshaft), second by a neck when making his stakes and 2008 debut in the March 22 Rushaway S., breezed in 1:01 1/5. Working in company with stablemate Palmers (Grand Slam), the Mark Casse pupil broke off about two lengths behind his workmate, held that position until drawing even at the eighth-pole, and finished on level terms. Miner's Claim is being pointed toward a tilt in the Blue Grass.

"I got him in 1:00 2/5 and the last three-eighths in :35 and change with a gallop out in 1:14 3/5," Casse said. "I didn't want him going any faster."

Grade 2-placed RACECAR RHAPSODY (Tale of the Cat), fourth when making his sophomore bow in the March 22 Lane's End S. (G2), completed his move in 1:02. The Kenny McPeek charge could make his next appearance in the April 19 Lexington S. (G2).

At Churchill Downs, Kentucky Jockey Club S. (G2) runner-up BLACKBERRY ROAD (Gone West), second in the Lecomte S. (G3) earlier this year prior to a fifth in the Risen Star and a fourth in the Louisiana Derby (G2) most recently, breezed five furlongs in 1:03 3/5 over the muddy track. The half-brother to champion juvenile Vindication was clocked in fractions of :14, :26 3/5, :38 4/5 and :51 3/5, galloping out six furlongs in 1:17 3/5.

Trained by David Carroll, Blackberry Road will run in Saturday's Arkansas Derby (G2). With $123,417 in graded earnings, Blackberry Road probably needs to pad his bankroll at Oaklawn Park in order to make the Kentucky Derby (G1) field.

BIG GLEN (Cactus Ridge), a game winner of the Rushaway, covered the same ground in 1:02 3/5. A late nominee to the Triple Crown, the Frankie Brothers runner is expected to line up in the Lexington. Big Glen will make his graded debut in the 1 1/16-mile event.

Multiple stakes hero LIBERTY BULL (Holy Bull) logged four furlongs under the Twin Spires in :48 2/5 in preparation for the Arkansas Derby. A dead-heat third in the Southwest S. (G3) two starts back, the Tom Amoss gray colt exits a two-length score in the WinStar Derby at Sunland Park.

At Oaklawn Park, multiple stakes victor and Grade 3-placed GOLDEN YANK (Yankee Gentleman) breezed five furlongs in a bullet 1:00 1/5, fastest of 17 workers at the distance. Fourth when making his 2008 bow in the Rebel S. (G2) last out, the Gary Thomas-conditioned gelding will compete in the Arkansas Derby.

Over the Cushion Track at Hollywood Park, San Pedro S. hero GAYEGO (Gilded Time) geared up for the Arkansas Derby by blitzing six panels in 1:12 4/5. The Paulo Lobo trainee made his two-turn debut in the San Felipe S. (G2) last time out and was just collared late by Georgie Boy (Tribal Rule).
