Going green is a concept everyone is trying to wrap their heads around. Green is also the new color in fashion you will see wrapped around the hats of Kentucky Derby fans today.
For the most part, you will see hats in neutral colors with a big punch of color in some form or fashion. Otherwise, if the backdrop of the hat is not a neutral color, you will see a lot of pink, in honor of the "Pink Out" and "Ladies First" of yesterday's running of the Kentucky Oaks. Often times, the Kentucky Oaks is the precursor to seeing the variance of hat style. Anything from a dressed up head band to a wide brimmed floppy hat.
Dressing up in fashion for the Kentucky Derby is so much fun, but like Real Housewife of New York, Bethenny Frankel, she dazzled the backside yesterday in her beautiful floral floppy hat, white dress fading into pink, and the greatest part of the outfit were the boots, rubber boots, as she anticipated a long walk from the backside to the paddock.
Anything really can go today, but the few quintessential fashion musts are as follows:
Ladies...
- Floppy Hats
- Dresses and fun skirts
- Archetype Handbags: www.architypegallery.com
- Biz Ruby Belts: www.bizruby.com
- Big sunglasses
- hair back under the hat
Gentlemen...
- Seersucker suits
- Fedoras
- funky t-shirts w/ blazer
- aviator sun glasses
For everyone...
- Cash for wagering
- poncho for the rain
- Mint Juleps
- FUN FUN FUN
