Trainer

Pletcher won the 2010 Kentucky Derby with Super Saver. In 2011 he led all trainers in monies won with such stable stars as Stay Thirsty and Awesome Maria. He trained Rags to Riches not only to win the Kentucky Oaks in 2007, but became the first filly to take the Belmont Stakes in 102 years. He won four straight Eclipse Awards as top trainer from 2004-2007 and again in 2010. He has trained multiple Eclipse champions including Uncle Mo, Ashado, English Channel, Speighstown, Fleet Indian, Wait a While, Lawyer Ron, and Left Bank.

John Velazquez

Jockey

John Velazquez has ridden in twelve editions of the Kentucky Derby. He won the 2011 Kentucky Derby aboard Animal Kingdom. He won the 2004 Kentucky Oaks with Ashado, who would win the Eclipse Award for top Three-Year-Old filly in 2004 and in 2005 won for Top Older Female.

Starlight Racing was founded by Jack and Laurie Wolf and was represented early on by millionaire earner and Kentucky Debry starter Harlan's Holiday. As a leading partnership in racing they have also campaigned back to back Eclipse Award champion and Kentucky Oaks winner Ashado. They have been in business for over ten years and in 2004 were joined in the current partnership by Barbara and Donald Lucarelli. Additional top stable runners include Algorithms, Keyed Entry, Octave, Purge, Monba, Sam P and Take the Points.

BryLynn Farm, Inc.

Breeder

Owned by Joseph Bryant and Toni Jones. The father-daughter duo started in the breeding business in 1984 with five mares. In 1985 bought property in Micanopy, Florida and established BryLynn Farm. The farm name comes from Toni’s middle name Lynn and the last name Bryant. BryLynn Farm now is how to 35-40 mares and breeds for the sale market. Toni and her husband Bobby also run and own LynnDale Farm in Reddick, Florida. They send the BryLynn yearlings there to prepare them for sales.

Wood Sprite has also produced three-time stakes queen Spritely, a near-miss runner-up in the seven-furlong First Flight H. (G2), second in the 1 1/16-mile Molly Pitcher H. (G2) and third in the Go for Wand H. (G1) in her only attempt at 1 1/8 miles
Wood Sprite is by the Irish champion and influential sire Woodman
Woodman is responsible for a wide array of champions, such as 1991 Preakness S. (G1) and Belmont S. (G1) winner Hansel, 1995 Preakness hero Timber Country, and European stand-outs Hawk Wing, Hector Protector and Bosra Sham
Woodman has demonstrated similarly remarkable range as a broodmare sire
His daughters have produced the likes of Canadian Triple Crown winner and Horse of the Year Wando; the terrific American juvenile More Than Ready, who went on to garner the King’s Bishop S. (G1) at three and now ranks as a sire of global import; two-time Australian champion Miss Finland; and a cascade of runners well known for their prowess in long-distance turf events
Wood Sprite’s dam, Long Silence, is herself a full sister to Grade/Group 2 hero Fair Judgment, effective at up to about 1 1/4 miles in Ireland
