Pedigree

  • From the first crop of millionaire Pollard’s Vision, who scored his signature victory in the 1 1/8-mile Illinois Derby (G2) in 2004
  • Pollard’s Vision competed at a high level at even longer distances, placing second in the 1 3/16-mile Pimlico Special H. (G1) and third in the 1 1/4-mile Suburban H. (G1)
  • Has also sired Air Crew, a three-time stakes winner in Italy at up to about one mile, and the versatile Fuzzy Britches, who captured the six-furlong Dearly Precious S. and finished third in the 1 1/8-mile Demoiselle S. (G2)
  • Blind Luck is the first foal from Lucky One, a daughter of Peter Pan S. (G2) winner Best of Luck
  • Although well-bred himself, Best of Luck was not a successful sire
  • His only graded stakes-winning offspring was Best of Buddies, winner of the Hawthorne Derby (G3) going 1 1/8 miles on turf
  • Blind Luck’s dam is a half-sister to the talented sprinter Ethan Man, who landed the seven-furlong Swale S. (G2)
  • This is the family of Grade 2-winning sprinter Chas Conerly, and further back, Monmouth Oaks (G1) queen Burn’s Return
  • With both her sire and broodmare sire proven at the distance, Blind Luck should excel at 1 1/8 miles
