Born May 12, 1964 in Dallas, Texas. Father William (Buddy), a school teacher, was an owner and trainer at Louisiana Downs. Bret and his father would claim a few horses and Bret would train them. Took out his trainer’s license in 1993 and would win his first race at Trinity Meadows on April 1, 1994 with Ramjet. His first stakes victory would come at Sam Houston Race Course on April 12, 1997 with Sweet Misty in the Sam Houston Oaks. Calhoun has said his favorite part of training is developing young horses and improving horses he claims.

Born November 6, 1986 in Lima, Peru.Got his start in horse racing by hotwalking and grooming horses at the age of 12 in his native country.Enrolled in Peru’s jockey school and graduated in the same class as Alan Garcia.

Martin Racing Stable is made up of William and Stephanie Martin. They reside in Dallas, Texas where they work in the real estate business. Dan Morgan resides in Orlando, Florida and works in the concrete construction business. Met through friends 12 years ago at a 2-year-old-sale. Martin has owned horses since the 1970s. One of his biggest wins came in 2007 in the Grade I Princess Rooney at Calder Race Course with River’s Prayer.
