Derby Style Watch
When it comes to horse racing's premier event, the competition isn't limited to the track itself. The Kentucky Derby and its sister event, the Kentucky Oaks, are the only sporting events that are also fashion events. Derby attendees spend as much time and money on their race-day apparel as they do at the betting window -- maybe more! And Derby fashionistas are in a race to see who can be declared best dressed.
The term "Dress to Impress" seems hardly adequate when describing Derby fashions. From the lavish hats to designer duds and pricey jewels, like any Hollywood Red Carpet, it's not unusual to be asked "Who are you wearing?" while at the Derby.
If you need some ideas on what to shop for, we've got you covered. Entertainment Reporter Angie Fenton will be providing regular updates on the Derby Style Watch and we've also pulled some of our favorite fashion photos from prior years to help you plan your wardrobe well in advance.
Guys - pay attention. We have some ideas for you, too, and no -- they don't involve your favorite jeans and a T-shirt...
