Gary Barber & Stoneway Farm LLC

Gary Barber has been involved in horse ownership in the states and internationally for over 15 years. He is a Hollywood movie mogul, the CEO and co founder of Spyglass Entertainment which has produced such top films as Seabiscuit, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Insider and The Sixth Sense. In partnership he has raced Grade 1 winners, The Deputy, Gitano Hernando, and Becrux. In 1982 he won an all expense paid trip to the Arlington Million from his native South Africa by winning a handicapping contest. Stoneway Farm in LaGrange, Kentucky is owned by Jim Stone who is also owner and president of Mercer Transportation a trucking company. He has over 30 horses in training and broodmares and young stock at Stoneway Farm. Some of his top runners include Exfactor, Irish Smoke and Caminadora.

Los Alamitos Futurity Added to 2014-15 'Road to the Kentucky Derby' Series

The $500,000 Los Alamitos Futurity (Grade I) has been added to the list of races that comprise the 2014-15 “Road to the Kentucky Derby.” The series of 35 select races – 19 “Prep Season” races and 16 “Championship Series” races – will determine which horses qualify to the 141st running of the $2 million guaranteed Kentucky Derby.
