T. Paul Bulmahn is an entrepreneur, author and philanthropist who grew up with a passion for horses.  As an entrepreneur in four diverse industries: oil and gas offshore development, large animal training, alternative energy sources and media production, Mr. Bulmahn has utilized ingenuity and innovation to build businesses internationally . He founded ATP Oil & Gas Company in 1991 and took it public in 2001. In 2006, he opened GoldMark Farm in Ocala, Florida as a thoroughbred training center.  A principal in Planet Green Solutions, Inc.,  Mr. Bulmahn is developing a biomass reactor to generate electricity.   Mr. Bulmahn is an avid supporter of causes to advance the horse racing industry and as such has founded GoldMark Media Ventures LLC to communicate and educate about everything equine. Amanda "Mandy" Pope races under her farm name of Whisper Hill Farm which is located in Florida. Mandy grew up riding hunters and jumpers and her interest in race horses began when she moved to Florida in 1980. Mandy has been very active at the sales recently aquiring Horse of the Year Havre De Grace and Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty to add to her strong broodmare band which she keeps in Kentucky. The young horses are raised at her Whisper Hill Farm which is also home to many retired thoroughbreds.

California Chrome Cruises to Victory in 140th Kentucky Derby before Crowd of 164,906

Steven Coburn and Perry Martin's favored California Chrome, ridden by Victor Espinoza, took command at the head of the stretch en route to a 1 3/4-length victory over Commanding Curve to win the 140th running of the $2,202,800 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (Grade I). A sun-splashed crowd of 164,906, the second-largest attendance in Kentucky Derby history, watched California Chrome give jockey Victor Espinoza a second Derby victory to go with his triumph on War Emblem in 2002.
