Derby Contenders

Godolphin Racing, LLC, Terrance Murray, Paul Braverman, Harvey A. Clarke, et al.

This  group started their horse owning partnership with 2011 Kentucky Derby competitor Soldat.   Harvey Clarke first met Bloodstock agent Steve Shahinian in the 70s when Clarke was bringing his children for riding lessions at a show horse barn Shahinian managed. Shahinian later became a bloodstock agent and purchased Soldat for Clarke at Keeneland in 2009.   Craig Robertson, an attorney from Lexington, Kentucky, then bought into Soldat at the suggestion of Shahinian.

As Soldat began to pick up steam, Paul Murray and Paul Braverman joined in.   Paul Braverman has been owning horses for over 30 years and was ready for some good fortune.  Soldat won the 2011 Fountain of Youth Stakes and went on to finish 11th in the 2011 Kentucky Derby.  The group has been outspoken about how much they enjoyed the experience of owning a Derby contender and has teamed up once again.
