Todd Pletcher

Pletcher won the 2010 Kentucky Derby with Super Saver and trained Rags to Riches to win the Kentucky Oaks in 2007 and Princess of Sylmar for win the 2013 Kentucky Oaks. He won four straight Eclipse Awards as top trainer from 2004-2007 and again in 2010. He has trained multiple Eclipse champions including Uncle Mo, Ashado, English Channel, Speighstown, Fleet Indian, Wait a While, Lawyer Ron, and Left Bank.

Pletcher began his career in horse racing at the age of seven hotwalking horses for his father J.J., who trained Thoroughbred and Quarter horses throughout the Southwest. After graduating from the University of Arizona race track program he went to work for Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas, becoming Lukas’s top assistant on the East Coast helping develop top horses Thunder Gulch, Serena’s Song, Flanders, and Harlan.

He has won training titles at Gulfstream Park, Keeneland, Aqueduct, Saratoga, Belmont, and Monmouth Park and holds the record for most stakes races won in a year with 100 wins in 2006. He has led the country in purses won 7 years.
