Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lukas is a four-time Kentucky Derby winner, and 43rd Derby starter in 2009.  A four-time Eclipse Award winner (1985-87 and 1994), Lukas is the all-time leading money winner and the first to reach the $200 million plateau. Lukas has trained a record of 24 Thoroughbred champions and three Eclipse Awards Horse of the Year winners. He's tied with Sunny Jim Fitzsimmons for the most Triple Crown race victories, 13. Beginning in 1994 Lukas won a record six consecutive Triple Crown races. 

Jerry Bailey

Jockey

Hall of Famer Jerry Bailey won the 1993 and 1996 Kentucky Derby and the 1993, 2001 and 2005 Kentucky Oaks. He won a record 15 Breeders' Cup races, including five Breeders' Cup Classics, three consecutive from 1993-95. He was the US Champion Jockey six times and was awarded the Ecplise Award for Outstanding Jockey seven times (95-97 and 2000-03); the first person to win it three years in a row. He was awarded the George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award in 1993.  Other notable mounts include: Cigar, Skip Away, Saint Liam, Black TIe Affair, Fit to Fight, Hansel, Congaree, Victory Gallop and Medaglia d'Oro.

Founded by the late William T Young, Overbrook Farm was home to one of the most influential sires of the 1990s, Storm Cat. Overbrook won the 1996 Kentucky Derby with homebred Grindstone.  In 1994 they won the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Breeder and in 1999 the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association Breeder of the Year award. Other notible horses include: Flanders, Boston Harbor, Cat Thief, Tabasco Cat and Timber Country.

California Chrome Cruises to Victory in 140th Kentucky Derby before Crowd of 164,906

Steven Coburn and Perry Martin's favored California Chrome, ridden by Victor Espinoza, took command at the head of the stretch en route to a 1 3/4-length victory over Commanding Curve to win the 140th running of the $2,202,800 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (Grade I). A sun-splashed crowd of 164,906, the second-largest attendance in Kentucky Derby history, watched California Chrome give jockey Victor Espinoza a second Derby victory to go with his triumph on War Emblem in 2002.
