Bob Baffert


Hall of Fame conditioner Bob Baffert won the Kentucky Derby back-to-back in 1997 and 1998 with Silver Charm and Real Quiet, and again in 2002 with War Emblem. He has saddled 24 horses in the Run for the Roses through 2014. The silver-haired trainer has also captured the Preakness Stakes a record-tying five times and earned the Eclipse Award for outstanding trainer three times. Baffert has saddled two Kentucky Oaks winners, Silverbulletday and Plum Pretty. In total, he has sent out the winners of nine Triple Crown races and 10 Breeders’ Cup events. 

David Flores


Flores has made ten appearances in the Run for the Roses; his best finish came in 1997 aboard Free House, who ran third.  He currently rides top California filly, Turbulent Descent, who is a Kentucky Oaks 137 hopeful. He has won ten races worth a $1 million or more including the Arlington Million, United Arab Emirates Derby, and the Godolphin Mile.David began riding in match races at age eight in Tijuana after being inspired to ride by his father who was a jockey.  In 1984 he set the apprentice jockey record of 61 victories at Caliente in Mexico.  Began riding in Southern California in 1989 and has been based there ever since.  Won his first Grade I race in 1991 Hollywood Gold Cup aboard Marquetry.  Flores has won riding titles at Santa Anita and Del Mar.In 2006, David was elected to a Western Region seat for the Jockey’s Guild.Top runners to date include: Zardana, American Lion Siphon, Bob Black Jack, Singletary, Tempera, General Challenge, Sulamani, Honor in War, Diamond Diva, El Gato Malo, Action This Day, Even the Score, and Ten Most Wanted.David Flores was born on February 5, 1968 and resides in Beverly Hills, California.
