Thomas Albertrani

Tom Albertrani comes from a horse racing family, his brother Luis trained Breeder's Cup Sprint winner Artax. Tom was introduced to racing at age 13 by an Uncle who was a trainer at Belmont Park. After learning the ropes around the barn Tom became a jockey and continued in that role for 6 years before taking a job as an assistant trainer. He worked for Mark Casse in that role until he met up with Hall Of Fame trainer Bill Mott in 1986 to take over as his top assistant in New York. During that time he was around such great horses as Theatrical and Cigar. In 1995 Godolphin Racing hired him to go to Dubai and be the assistant to their head trainer, Saeed Bin Suroor where he was involved with the campaigns of such stars as Street Cry and Daylami. He returned to the states and began training his own public stable. Top runners include 2006 Preakness Stakes winner, Bernardini, Balletto, Gossip Girl and Brilliant Speed.
