Eddie Plesa Jr.
Eddie grew up in horse racing as his father was a jockey and then a trainer. He worked as an assistant for Stanley Hough before going out on his own in 1986. With over 2000 victories, he has been one of the leading trainers in Florida for over two decades and was inducted into the Calder Hall of Fame in 2006. Some of the top horses he has conditioned include Three Rings, Speak Logistics, Hey Byrn, Gotcha Gold , JJ's Dream and Successful Song.
Hardway Stables, Inc.
Ralph Nabavi races under the name Hardway Stables and lives in New York with a home in Davie Florida. He has owned thoroughbreds for 7 years but has been involved with horses since he was 14. The victory by Speak Logisitics in the In Reality was Nabavi's first stakes win. He owns Dnj Logisitics Group Inc., a transportation logistics company.
Speak Logistics' pedigree doesn't offer a great deal of encouragement for his prospects at 1 1/4 miles.
He is from the second crop sired by High Cotton, winner of a trio of 1 1/16-mile stakes -- the Northern Dancer, Rushaway and Sir Barton -- and a close runner-up in the 1 1/8-mile Ohio Derby in 2006.
High Cotton shapes up as a force for speed and precocity. His first-crop star was 2011 Hopeful winner Currency Swap, and last summer, he was responsible for another top Spa juvenile in the ill-fated Spurious Precision, who captured the Saratoga Special.
Speak Logistics' dam, Miss Sabrina, has a perfect record as a broodmare: all eight of her registered foals are winners. Herself a winner in her debut at seven furlongs, Miss Sabrina is producing foals with a similar distance capacity.
Speak Logistics is a full brother to Megamove, a four-time winner from a mile to 1 1/16 miles, and his half-siblings include Megalith, who landed a six-furlong restricted stakes.
Miss Sabrina is by Summer Squall, the 1990 Preakness winner and Kentucky Derby runner-up, but she doesn't appear to be in the mold of his better-staying progeny. Summer Squall has sired Horse of the Year Charismatic, who scored in the 1999 Derby and Preakness; champion juvenile filly Storm Song; 2005 Kentucky Oaks victress Summerly; and top older mare Summer Colony.
Summer Squall's daughters are responsible for Summer Bird, the Belmont-winning champion three-year-old of 2009; Stevie Wonderboy, the champion juvenile male of 2005; Premier Pegasus, once a top Derby hope in 2011 before injury intervened, and his half-brother Street Hero.
Miss Sabrina is a half-sister to the multiple stakes-winning sprinter Revolutionary Act, herself the dam of stakes winners Night Party and American Act, who just missed in last year's San Vicente.
Speak Logistics does have a possible genetic wildcard up his sleeve, however: he is inbred 4x3 to Broodmare of the Year Weekend Surprise, the dam of A.P. Indy and Summer Squall.
