Elliott Walden


W. Elliott Walden is a third generation horseman who trained Victory Gallop to win the Belmont Stakes, the Whitney Hanicap and the Stephen Foster enroute to being named the Eclipse Champion Older Horse in 1999. In 2005 Walden joined WinStar Farm were he is now President/CEO & Racing Manager.

Alex Solis


A native of Panama City, Panama, Solis attended a jockey school in his homeland and won his first race there in 1981. After arriving in the United States, Solis won the 1986 Preakness Stakes aboard Snow Chief; and aboard Pleasantly Perfect he won the Dubai World Cup (UAE-G1) and Breeders' Cup Classic (G1). He has also won the Breeders' Cup Sprint and Truf.  Solis finished second in the Kentucky Derby three times -- aboard Captain Bodgit in 1997, Victory Gallop in 1998 and Aptitude in 2000.

Prestonwood Farm, Inc.


Founded by brothers Jack and Art Preston, Prestonwood Farm had two-time Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Da Hoss (1996 and 1998), 1987 Sprint champion Groovy, 1998 Belmont Stakes winner and 1999 older male champion Victory Gallop. Prestonwood was aquired in 2000 and renamed WinStar Farms. Other noteable horses inclue: Special Ring, Good Command, Distorted Humor, Kostroma, Classic Fame, To Freedom, and Auriette.

Los Alamitos Futurity Added to 2014-15 'Road to the Kentucky Derby' Series

The $500,000 Los Alamitos Futurity (Grade I) has been added to the list of races that comprise the 2014-15 “Road to the Kentucky Derby.” The series of 35 select races – 19 “Prep Season” races and 16 “Championship Series” races – will determine which horses qualify to the 141st running of the $2 million guaranteed Kentucky Derby.
