Christine Daae easily scores in two-turn debut
CHRISTINE DAAE (Giant's Causeway) was scratched out of Saturday's Davona Dale S. (G2) at Gulfstream Park, but trainer Patrick Biancone re-entered the talented chestnut in the 6TH race on Sunday, a $37,000 allowance going 1 1/8 miles.
The move proved successful as the sophomore lass tracked just to the outside of the pacesetting Kitty in a Tizzy (Tiznow) through fractions of :23 2/5, :48 1/5 and 1:12 4/5, took command heading into the stretch and pulled away under an easy hand ride from a very confident Corey Nakatani for the 2 3/4-length victory.
Christine Daae stopped the clock in 1:50 1/5 on the fast dirt in her two-turn debut, having previously schooled her rivals by 8 3/4 lengths while going seven furlongs on January 15.
The filly made her career bow on Hollywood Park's Cushion Track last July, running fourth, and has now banked $45,960 in lifetime earnings for owners Michael Imperio and Kona Stables LLC.
Biancone indicated following the race that Christine Daae is now headed to the Bonnie Miss S. (G2) on March 20.
