Kiaran McLaughlin
Trainer
Kiaran began his career as an assistant trainer for top trainers including D. Wayne Lukas. After a brief stint training in the United Arab Emirates, McLaughlin returned to the United States with his own string of horses. In 2006, he trained Belmont Stakes winner Jazil as well as Breeders’ Cup Classic winner and Horse of the Year Invasor who would go on to win the 2007 Dubai World Cup. Other top horses include Henny Hughes, Lear's Princess, It's Tricky, Soldat and Flashy Bull.

Shadwell Stable is owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler and Minister of Finance of Dubai. They have won the Eclipse Award for Owner and have been champion owner in Britain 4 times. Shadwell has 7 stud farms, is very active at the horse sales and maintains more that 300 horses in training. Stable stars include HOY Invasor, Belmont Stakes winner Jazil, Dayjur, Shakis, Sakhee, Lahudood and Nashwan.
Pedigree
Asiya is by Grade 1-winning miler Daaher out of Grade 3-placed sprinter Khalila, and scored her biggest win to date while competing at seven furlongs.
Daaher did place while going farther than a mile, but usually well behind the winner of those contests.
From two crops to race, Daaher’s best runner is multiple Grade 2 heroine and sprinter Gypsy Robin.
Asiya does get some stamina from her dam line, as Khalila is a half-sister to dual stakes victress Galloping Gal, who was regularly competitive from a mile to nine furlongs and went on in the breeding shed to produce Grade 1-winning router Liaison.
Other distance runners in Asiya’s female line Grade 3 winner Bright Again and Grade 1-placed Our Little Margie.
