Pedigree
Railtown Girl is by undefeated Argentinean champion Candy Ride out of the Orientate mare Harlow Gold.
Candy Ride competed just three times stateside, taking an optional claimer over Hollywood Park’s main track and that venue’s grassy Grade 2 American Handicap, before scoring a 3 1/4-length victory in the Grade 1 Pacific Classic on Del Mar’s main surface in 2003.
The bay has done pretty well in the breeding shed as well, siring the likes of Misremembered, Sidney’s Candy, Twirling Candy, Capt. Candyman Can, El Brujo, Evita Argentina and Home Sweet Aspen, all of whom are Grade 1 winners.
Harlow Gold never tried stakes rivals, sticking to allowance and claiming events during her 15-race career, but is a half-sister to dual Grade 3 hero Sea of Tranquility.
Railtown Girl’s female family has also produced 1987 champion mare North Sider.
