2011 Kentucky Oaks Graded Earnings List
Updated Sunday, May 1, 2011
The Kentucky Oaks 137 Graded Stakes Earnings will likely determine the participants in the 137th running of the $1 million Kentucky Oaks (Grade I) on Friday, May 6. The Kentucky Oaks field is limited to 14 starters, and graded stakes earnings accumulated in prestigious races on the “Road to the Kentucky Oaks” help determine the field for the 1 1/8-mile race. The Kentucky Oaks 137 Graded Stakes Earnings List includes all 3-year-old fillies who were made eligible to this year’s Kentucky Oaks at $200 per horse when the early nomination period closed Feb. 19. There also was a late period for nominations at $1,500 each that closed April 13. A supplementary nomination of $50,000 each may be made at the time of entry. In the case of a tie for the final entry position or the determination of all remaining starters, preference is given to horses that accumulated the highest earnings in non-restricted stakes races. If a tie still remains, the final spots in the starting gate will be determined by lot or a “shake.” There is no “also-eligible” list. The Kentucky Oaks Post Position Draw will take place Tuesday, May 3 in the Churchill Downs Racing Office at 11 a.m.
