Malibu Moon--Kiss the Devil, by Kris S.

Kiss Moon is by top sire Malibu Moon, who never got a chance to strut his stuff on track but has more than made up for that in the breeding shed.

The 17-year-old stallion made just two starts, but immediately hit pay dirt in the breeding shed with Grade 2 winner Perfect Moon from his first crop in 2001. His second crop was even better, showcasing champion Declan’s Moon and Grade 1 heroine Malibu Mint.

Malibu Moon is also the sire of such Grade 1-winning star fillies as Life at Ten, Devil May Care and Ask the Moon.

Last year, Malibu Moon saw his son Orb take the Florida Derby and Fountain of Youth en route to triumph in the Kentucky Derby. This year Malibu Moon has another Kentucky Derby hopeful in Jerome scorer Noble Moon.

Kiss Moon’s dam is the Kris S. mare Kiss the Devil, a Grade 3 winner on track who has also produced multiple Grade 3-placed stakes heroine Kiss Mine.

Kiss the Devil is a half-sister to the dam of Grade 3 scorer Nonios, who placed in the Haskell Invitational and Awesome Again, both Grade 1s, in 2012.

Also of note in this female line is Grade 1 diva Nell’s Briquette, dam of Group 2 heroes Sanquirico and Love the Groom, as well as Canadian champion One From Heaven.
