Pedigree

Unbridled Forever is by two-time Grade 1 winner and millionaire Unbridled’s Song out of the Lemon Drop Kid mare Lemons Forever, who posted one of the biggest upsets in recent Kentucky Oaks history when taking the 2006 edition at odds of 47-1.

Unbridled’s Song, who passed away last year, is in the top 10 on the leading sire list. Will Take Charge became his most prominent offspring after being honored as champion three-year-old male for 2013 following five wins, including the Travers, and a close head second in the Breeders’ Cup Classic.

Other Unbridled’s Song offspring include champion Midshipman; Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic/Distaff queens Unrivaled Belle and Unbridled Elaine; dual Grade 1 heroine Octave, who ran second in the 2007 Kentucky Oaks; and Grade 2 victress Eight Belles, who broke down after finishing second in the 2008 Kentucky Derby.

Unbridled Forever’s second dam is Critikola, a multiple Group 2 winner in Argentina who was later multiple Grade 1-placed in the U.S.

This South American female family also boasts Group 1 winners Mr. Carrea and Frau Heidi as well as Chilean champion Staccato.
