Forum Racing's Birdatthewire was facing a big class test off a maiden win last out, but the Dale Romans trainee passed with flying colors in Saturday's $200,000 Forward Gal (G2) at Gulfstream.

Near the back of the pack early as the front runners dueled, the 12-1 chance picked up steam down the stretch and blew by them all. Birdatthewire was 3 1/4 lengths clear in a final time of 1:24 4/5 for seven furlongs, and fueled a $26.80 win payout.

Birdatthewire earned 10 points toward the Kentucky Oaks. Lassofthemohicans rallied for second (4 points), the winner's stablemate Taylor S got third (2 points) and Ekati's Phaeton took fourth (1 point).
