We ended another successful Spring Meet on Friday night, after 38 days of thrilling racing, exciting events and, of course, one more Derby for the history books!  Here's the 2017 Spring Meet by the numbers.

  • Kentucky Derby attendees: 158,070
  • Kentucky Oaks attendees: 105,100
  • Oaks Day temperature high: 51 degrees (that's the coldest on record since 1940 when the high was 49 degrees)
  • Amount wagered on Derby Day: $209.2 million (That's a record and the first time we've surpassed $200 million)
  • Most wins by a jockey: 58 (Corey Lanerie, again. He's won 13 of the last 15 meet riding titles at Churchill Downs)
  • Most wins by a trainer: 23 (Steve Asmussen, with his 18th leading trainer title)
  • Most wins by an owner: 11 (Maggi Moss)
  • Amount of purses awarded to winners of Spring Meet races: $21,264,458 million
  • Number of Spring Meet races: 372
  • Number of horses to compete in Spring Meet races: 2,996
