American Theorem Contender Profile
A son of 2015 Triple Crown champion American Pharoah, American Theorem had little difficulty winning his debut sprinting at Del Mar, after which he stepped up in class and distance for the American Pharoah Stakes (G1). In another solid run, American Theorem tracked the pace to finish second in the race named for his sire, 2 ¼ lengths clear of future Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) winner Storm the Court.
Conditioned by George Papaprodromou, American Theorem is bred top and bottom for stamina, considering broodmare sire Maria’s Mon was a juvenile champion who sired Kentucky Derby winners Monarchos (2001) and Super Saver (2010) during a productive stud career. The future looks bright for American Theorem, who will seek to extend the legacy of American Pharoah on the Road to the Kentucky Derby.
