10 Things to watch for in racing this weekend

1) Enable Makes Her Seasonal Debut – Reigning Prix De L’arc d DeTriomphe (FG1) sensation will make her much anticipated 2018 debut in the Group 3 September Stakes at Kempton on Saturday. John Gosden pupil was untouchable following a third-place run to kick off her sophomore campaign when running off five Group 1 romps in succession. Nathaniel filly will have to be sharp to defeat Crystal Ocean, though, who is in peak form for Sir Michael Stoute.

2) Belmont Park OpensSaratoga is over, but the action in the Empire State doesn’t miss a beat. The Fall Championship Meet starts at Belmont Park, which plays host to seven Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” events over 36 racing days.

3) Kentucky Downs – The lucrative purses offered at Kentucky Downs have been bringing in serious horses in recent seasons. Saturday plays host to five stakes races, including four of the graded kind. And with a miniscule 14% takeout on the late Pick-4, it’s a must play.

4) Shesasuperfreak – Bay filly arrived at Saratoga for a maiden event with little fanfare from a lower profile barn. $30,000 miss by Shanghai Bobby broke fast in the August 15 affair and increased her margin at every call en route to a 10-length romp. New York-bred will run at Finger Lakes in the Lady Finger S. on Saturday. And another convincing win could have her connections thinking open company for sure.

5) Real Money – Trainer Mark Casse will send out the two-year-old colt in Race 10 at Belmont on Saturday. Son of Real Solution was a $32,000 yearling purchase who was pinhooked for a hefty $675,000 as a two-year-old at OBS March. May foal is, in my memory, one of the more lucrative pinhooks in recent times. I am intrigued to see if the colt lives up to his price tag.

6) Hastings – Vancouver, Canada race venue has a big day on Saturday. Six stakes races are carded on the bullring oval, led by the $150,000 British Columbia Derby (G3).

7) Juvenile Stakes at Arlington – A pair of races for the youngsters will be in the spotlight at Arlington Park on Saturday. The $75,000 Arlington-Washington Futurity and $75,000 Arlington Washington Lassie S. lead the way.

8) Cross Country Pick 4 – Saturday’s special Pick 4 wager contains four turf events. Two will come each from Kentucky Downs (Race 6,7) and Belmont Park (Races 8,9). Big fields and challenging races could make this payout a handsome one.

9) Showdown in Beverly Lewis – Los Alamitos began their meeting this week and a very interesting stakes affair will take place on Saturday. The 8Th Race is for sophomore fillies going six panels and attracted a pair of good ones. UAE Oaks (UAE-G3) victress Rayya will make her first start since the spring and second since joining Bob Baffert. Tiz Wonderful filly was second in the UAE Derby (UAE-G2) and is much better than her Kentucky Oaks (G1) showing. Beaumont (G3) queen Gas Station Sushi also makes her first run since May and has been sharp from a three-race career to this point. It could be thrilling affair.

10) My TwinSpires Blogs – This is self-explanatory.
