Keeneland Racing Secretary Ben Huffman reports that, as of Sunday morning, 10 sophomores were listed as probable for Saturday's $300,000 Lexington S. (G2), one of the last chances for horses to possibly secure enough graded stakes earnings for a spot in the Kentucky Derby (G1) starting gate.
Three of the 10 are stakes winners, headed by UPTOWNCHARLYBROWN (Limehouse), winner of the Pasco S. at Tampa Bay Downs and subsequent third-place finisher in the Sam F. Davis (G3) and fifth-place finisher in the Tampa Bay Derby (G3). Other stakes winners are WORKIN FOR HOPS (City Zip), winner of the Grindstone S. at Fair Grounds, and EXHI (Maria's Mon), winner of the Rushaway S. at Turfway Park.
Other probables for the 1 1/16-mile race on the Polytrack are CALL SHOT (Tale of the Cat), CHIEF COUNSEL (Officer), DISTORTED DAVE (Distorted Humor), GAME ON DUDE (Awesome Again), KETTLE RIVER (Congaree), KRYPTON (Rock Hard Ten) and PRINCE WILL I AM (Victory Gallop).
Entries will be taken Wednesday.
