WinStar Farm’s Endorsement is out of the Kentucky Derby (G1) due to a non-displaced condylar fracture in his right front leg.

The Sunland Derby (G3) winner worked four furlongs in :47 2/5 Tuesday morning at Churchill Downs with trainer Shannon Ritter in the saddle, but he exited the breeze in discomfort and x-rays revealed the injury.

Endorsement is expected to be sidelined for at least three months.

His defection guarantees a spot in the Derby field for multiple graded stakes winner and Illinois Derby (G2) third-placer Backtalk.

Make Music for Me also joined the Derby field when the connections Interactif elected not to enter Derby 136.

Florida Derby (G1) runner-up Pleasant Prince (Indy King), who wound up 21st on the graded earnings list, was the first horse excluded from the Derby field.

The Kentucky Derby draw will take place at noon (EDT).
