Daily Racing Form reports that Hopeful S. (G1) winner BOYS AT TOSCONOVA (Officer) has been taken off the Kentucky Derby (G1) trail.

Trainer Rick Dutrow Jr. hadn't been satisfied with the way the colt was training for his intended comeback in the January 30 Holy Bull S. (G3) at Gulfstream Park. Boys at Tosconova ended up skipping the race and underwent a battery of tests.

"He just wasn’t right," Dutrow told the DRF Saturday. "All the tests we took came back negative. I’m not sure what’s bothering him, but he just wasn’t himself. I originally thought it was a knee, it might be an ankle. So we’ll just back off and let him regroup."

Last seen finishing second to unbeaten champion Uncle Mo (Indian Charlie) in the November 6 Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) at Churchill Downs, Boys at Tosconova will now get an extended vacation on the farm.
