The 56-year old Dallas Stewart is a Mississippi native who has established a strong reputation in the state of Kentucky. He trained as an apprentice under D. Wayne Lukas for 12 years before striking out on his own. In 2000 he was awarded the Leading Trainer honor at Keeneland Race Course. He earned his single Breeders’ Cup win at the Distaff in 2001 with Unbridled Elaine, and also won the Kentucky Oaks in 2006 with Lemons Forever. Stewart would finish second at the Kentucky Derby in back-to-back seasons with Golden Soul (2013) and Commanding Curve (2014). The Preakness Stakes has always been a bride’s maid situation for Stewart, with two second place finishes at the 2015 renewal with Tal of Verve and in 2008 with Macho Again. He is currently pointing Forever Unbridled towards the 2016 Kentucky Oaks and has a few interests on the 2016 Kentucky Derby trail.
