Irish-bred Amazonas will likely stick to overseas engagements in the near future, where her turf-laden pedigree will be put to good use.

The daughter of influential turf sire Cape Cross is out of the Proud Citizen mare Francesca d’Gorgio, who competed exclusively on turf.

While her dam was a turf competitor, Amazonas female line does boast such successful main track runners as Grade 1 queen My Trusty Cat and Grade 2 mother-son duo Crowned and Best of Luck, the latter of whom also ran fourth in the Belmont Stakes.

This is also the female line of Grade 2-placed Kentucky Derby hopeful Dewey Square.
