Pedigree

Dreaming of Julia is by Horse of the Year A.P. Indy out of the multiple Grade 1-scoring Wild Rush mare Dream Rush.

A.P. Indy suffered just three losses during his 11-race career, and along the way captured the Belmont Stakes and BC Classic.

The highly successful stallion has many top notch offspring, but a few of his more prominent fillies include champion Rags to Riches, who triumphed in both the Kentucky Oaks and Belmont Stakes in 2009; BC Juvenile Fillies champion Tempera; multiple Grade 1 queen Music Note; and 2000 Kentucky Oaks victress Secret Status.

Dreaming of Julia’s dam is no slouch, in either the breeding shed or when she raced. Dream Rush, who stuck to sprinting events, won a pair of Grade 1 contests during her sophomore season and was unplaced in just three races from 16 total starts.

Dreaming of Julia is Dream Rush’s first registered foal, and suffered her first loss when third in the BC Juvenile Fillies last November.

Also of note in Dreaming of Julia’s female family is multiple Grade/Group 2 heroine Reine Mathilda, who ran third against the boys in the 1984 Grade 1 contest.
