Pedigree

Irish Lute is out of the Storm Boot mare Shaniowa and by Midnight Lute, who was honored with an Eclipse Award as champion sprinter in 2007 following a 4 3/4-length victory in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint.

Midnight Lute also captured the Grade 1 Forego that season and returned the next year from a nine-month layoff to defend his Breeders’ Cup title off just one prep.

Shaniowa alternated between stakes company and the claiming ranks during her time on track. She is a half-sister to multiple stakes winners Southern Shame and Myth of Gold, and produced a stakes-placed runner in Dodgen Bullets prior to Irish Lute.

This female family is responsible for Grade 3-placed stakes scorers Drummer Boy and Belle’s Ruler.
